Job Description

Summary of position the Children/Family Minister is to lovingly shepherd the generations of the church and oversee its structures and atmosphere to ensure that the families of FHC are making disciples of the next generation.

Their first role is that of an advocate for the young because these are the individuals who are least knowledgeable and least experienced in the Christian walk. They will next, guide and direct the parents of these young people because they are in the greatest position to influence the young. Their third role is focused on mature adults because they have an important role in the discipleship and mentoring of both parents and young people, alike.

PRIMARY EXPECTATIONS AND JOB DUTIES

Expectations

  1. Provide Exceptional Educational/Care for Children during Church Service Times
  2. Ensure that all ministries I am responsible for have what they need for each service to run in an excellent manner
  3. Provide encouragement, creativity, problem solve and think outside the box!
  4. ENSURE THAT I HAVE THE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, PROCESSES, AND TOOLS TO PERFORM MY JOB IN A MANNER COMPARABLE TO THE BEST IN THE INDUSTRY IN MY FUNCTIONAL AREA.  
  5. CONSISTENTLY AND IN AN EXCELLENT MANNER IMPART THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD INTO THE CHILDREN/ADULTS SO THEY CAN BE SUCCESSFUL AND BRING GODLY CHANGE TO THE WORLD AROUND THEM.
  6. SHEPHERD AND DISCIPLE THOSE THAT HAVE BEEN ASSIGNED TO ME.
  7. PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES FOR GROWTH IN PRESENT LEADERSHIP
  8. TO PERFORM DUTIES CONSISTENT WITH FHC POLICIES, PROCEDURES, AND VALUES   

Duties

  1. CHILDREN’S MINISTRY

(i)                Lead, motivate, nourish and disciple the children/servants/families that I am assigned

(ii)              Oversee Babies through Jr. High & Team Kid, Royal Rangers, Campus Children’s Ministries         

(iii)             Oversee 12 Directors over 100 Volunteers

(iv)             Oversee All Children’s Services, Child Dedications, Birthdays, Graduations, Background Checks for all ministries, Nurses Schedules, Bulletin Boards, Training, Meetings (once a month with Directors and THREE Xs a year with all workers)

(v)               Classroom Decorations

(vi)             Turn in weekly Attendance

(vii)            Purchase ALL SUPPLIES

(viii)          Curriculum updates of 10 different curriculums

(ix)             Copy work

(x)                Training packets are updated

(xi)             Assimilation Team supplies

(xii)            Oversee Directors

(xiii)          Follow Children’s Ministry policies and procedures guidelines

(xiv)           Update Monthly schedules on the City

(xv)            Plan special events such as kids camp, special parties, outreaches

(xvi)           Specialized childcare for certain holiday services or guest speaker

(xvii)         Check in every service or observe a certain class

(xviii)        Troubleshoot issues or problems with Directors

(ii)              Oversee 12 Child Directors: Curriculum, Supplies, Preschool, Nursery, Elementary, J. High, Assimilation, Room Décor, Special Events, Programs

(iii)             Fundraisers for Children’s Ministry Projects

(iv)             VBS/Annual Conference Children’s Event
